Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) is calling for the establishment of formal procedures to ensure investigations and action are taken in response to allegations of fraud and mismanagement detailed in the Chief Auditor General's (LKAN) report. Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj, PSM's chairman, stated that while the report highlighted numerous instances of corruption, including the acquisition of goods at three to five times their original price, the matter was dropped after that.

He urged the Audit Department to be strengthened, including adding more staff to investigate claims of mismanagement in government spending. PSM also questioned whether government agencies are required to investigate the possibility of abuse of power detailed in the LKAN report, and whether the findings are reported to superior authorities and disclosed to the public.

LKAN 2026, introduced in February, identified 273 issues related to financial management and governance at the national and state levels, including irregularities at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia involving a co-op that falsely claimed RM50.74 million in student fees. Other proposals include lowering the price of public transport My50 from RM50 to RM30, increasing the budget for low-cost residential housing to RM200 million, and reducing the cost of higher education for low-income families.

PSM also proposed establishing a data center for child poverty and providing better nutritional support for children, enforcing stricter regulations for data centers, and allocating RM1 billion for a joint initiative with Indonesia to address cross-border smuggling issues.
