NPP Chairmanship: Agyarko To Pull Surprise

Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko is the frontrunner for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) national chairmanship, according to pundits. This comes after the NPP member completed his nationwide tour. Agyarko is confident of winning the race in Ashanti Regional capital, having finished his marathon campaign trip. His mantra, "My party right or wrong I stand by it," has resonated with his supporters.

His mission is to unite the party, restore structures, and secure victory in 2028. He pledged to achieve this through "Operation One Touch," a strategy to elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President and restore the parliamentary majority. Agyarko's experience spans banking, politics, and public service, with 22 years at the Bank of New York and roles as a founding member, Policy Adviser, and Cabinet Minister in the NPP.

He also outlined five key commitments if elected, focusing on unity, a credible membership register, financial accountability, reconciliation of aggrieved members, and strengthening party structures.
