New video shows chaos on flydubai flight after Indian pilot foils attack

On Thursday, Israeli television aired footage depicting the pandemonium on flydubai Flight 1073 following an apparent attempt to crash the aircraft. The plane, en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv, was met with a violent display as passengers and crew members confronted the suspected attacker.

Crowded around the cockpit door, a number of individuals could be seen shouting in a mix of English and Hebrew. One voice proclaimed, "He [the accused Omani pilot] tried to crash the plane." Others urged, "Take him out." Another individual yelled, "Sit down."

A crew member urgently requested one of the backup pilots on board. The footage demonstrates the swift actions of the crew as they opened a first aid kit. The pilot, suspected of the attack, was subsequently transferred to the UAE, where the investigation continues.

Indian captain Smit Machchhar, the victim of the assault, was stabbed during the incident. Despite his injury, Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door, enabling the crew and passengers to overpower the Omani pilot and ensure the plane landed safely.
