Navratri 2026: Bhopal’s 38 Police Station Areas To Get Extra Night Patrols, Women Cops At Garba Venues

Bhopal police have announced special night patrols for the upcoming Navratri festival, with additional personnel to be deployed across all 38 police station areas from midnight to 5 am. The nine-day celebration kicks off on October 11, and the extra security measures aim to prevent late-night crimes and ensure safety around festival venues, crowded markets, and women-safety hotspots.

Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar revealed that personnel from various ranks, including constables, head constables, sub-inspectors, inspectors, and ACPs, will be involved in the deployment. The police are studying crime patterns from the past six months to identify high-risk locations, which may receive two extra patrol teams as needed.

Garba-Dandiya venues and Durga Puja pandals will also receive enhanced security during the festival. Dial-112 and bike FRV teams will intensify patrolling on isolated and poorly lit roads, while crowded areas will be continuously monitored. Women personnel, ranging from constable to inspector, will patrol hotspots, such as markets, fairs, festivals, and Garba-Dandiya events, using motorcycles and other vehicles.

Their primary role will be to respond to complaints related to harassment, stalking, indecent behavior, and threats. The additional personnel will increase police visibility at night and enable rapid response to suspicious activity and offenders. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 13th Indian Harmonica Festival in Bhopal.
