Intriguing instrumental music trio Silk Fence has united three renowned musicians. Arian Shafiee, formerly of Guerilla Toss, brings his electric guitar skills to the group. Booker Stardrum, who has worked with SML and Play Time, contributes his drumming and percussion expertise. Justin Frye, a member of PC Worship, adds double bass and tape textures to the mix.
Their collaboration has resulted in a 2024-2025 recording project titled "Silk Fence," released on Ryan Davis' Sophomore Lounge label. The four-track album was recorded between Brooklyn and Bethel, New York, and it defies conventional genre categorization, evoking a post-apocalyptic, Western-inspired soundscape. Silk Fence is positioned as a standout example of atmospheric, repetitive, and foreground-oriented experimentation in the realm of post-rock, kraut-jazz, and beyond. Fans can stream the debut album below and purchase it via the provided link.
