The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore initiated a trial run for its innovative on-screen marking system, known as e-marking, as part of a pilot project intended to revolutionize the examination paper marking process. On the first day of the pilot, 150 students from Government College University (GCU), Punjab College, and Superior College participated in the examination using e-sheets.
Muzammil Mahmood, Chairman of the Task Force on Examinations, along with BISE Lahore Chairman Professor Badar-ul-Islam and Controller of Examinations Tauseef-ur-Rehman, reviewed the preparations. Mahmood highlighted that the e-marking system would boost students' confidence in the examination process and facilitate the identification of impersonators through e-sheets.
Professor Badar-ul-Islam noted that expert teachers from throughout Pakistan would be able to mark examination papers using this new system, while only qualified teachers would be authorized to check them. Tauseef-ur-Rehman, Controller of Examinations, stated that the introduction of e-marking would also markedly decrease complaints related to rechecking of examination papers.
