India’s ancient knowledge can guide world through conflicts, says Mohan Bhagwat
Amidst conflicts, ideological divisions and other global challenges, the world is turning to India for solutions rooted in its ancient knowledge traditions, according to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Speaking at the 14th conference of the All India Vihar Seva Group in Borivali, Bhagwat highlighted how India's traditions of knowledge could offer guidance on the issues confronting humanity. He emphasized that the solutions to the challenges faced by the world lie in the ancient and vast legacy of Bharat.
Bhagwat drew a close link between the concepts of dharma and nation, stating that dharma was the purpose of the nation and the nation's sustenance. He stressed that dharma and nation were interdependent, and the existence of one could only be sustained when the other existed.
The RSS chief pointed out that India had a history of sharing its knowledge with other societies without resorting to military conquest or forced religious conversions. This, he described as a unique aspect of what he called the Bharatiya tradition of knowledge. He cited texts such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita, Jain Agamas, the Tripitaka and Guru Granth Sahib as repositories of teachings that could provide guidance on human welfare and social harmony.
Bhagwat also highlighted the teachings of saints who emphasized service and social harmony, stating that these traditions remain relevant to the world's current challenges.
Preserving and passing on these traditions to future generations, Bhagwat stressed, was not only a religious responsibility but also a responsibility towards society. At an event in Dadar later that evening, Bhagwat launched the Dnyanrang: Dnyaneshwari mobile application, conceptualized by Amey Hete of Valuable Group.
