Indian IT engineer in Abu Dhabi gets birthday surprise with Dh25,000 Big Ticket win

Abu Dhabi: An Indian IT professional living in Abu Dhabi experienced a delightful birthday gift when his group won Dh25,000 in Big Ticket's concluding weekly e-draw for September. Kunal Pillai, 34, hailing from Mumbai, has been residing in Abu Dhabi alongside his spouse for the past 11 years. His interest in Big Ticket originated from a mutual acquaintance and he began taking part approximately a year ago.

Initially, it was an unfamiliar activity, yet it has evolved into a cherished pastime shared with his wife and a close friend. The group collectively purchased six tickets for their latest entry, with each individual responsible for selecting a set of numbers. Kunal was responsible for picking three, while his friend chose the other three.

Upon receiving the winning call, the engineer was momentarily taken aback but quickly realized the magnitude of the situation. "At first, I was stunned, but once I understood it was genuinely Big Ticket calling, I was absolutely thrilled. I couldn't believe we had actually won," he expressed. Having emerged during Pillai's birthday month, the prize provided an additional reason to celebrate.

The monetary compensation will be distributed among the group, and Kunal may choose to use his share to indulge in a small treat to mark the occasion. The win has also bolstered the group's resolve to continue participating in future Big Ticket draws. October's Big Ticket promotion features a Dh25 million grand prize, with a single winner to be announced during the live draw on November 3, promising participants an even more substantial reward in the near future.
