Hyderabad devotee donates ₹1.02 crore to TTD’s SV Pranadana Trust

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka revealed on Friday that infrastructure development projects worth ₹52,000 crore are advancing swiftly in Hyderabad under the leadership of the People's government. The initiatives include major investments in roads, flyovers, bridges, underpasses, water supply, and public transport to accommodate the city's growing demands.

Addressing the launch of the TSRTC-Metro Rail Common Pass at Praja Bhavan, Vikramarka emphasized that Hyderabad is expanding rapidly and requires strategic planning to enhance civic infrastructure and public amenities. He stressed that the government prioritizes tangible outcomes from development projects rather than merely focusing on publicity.

Vikramarka disclosed that ₹35,000 crore worth of projects have already been initiated within the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority limits, encompassing road expansion, flyovers, bridges, and other initiatives executed by various agencies such as GHMC, Hyderabad Water Works, and others. The cumulative value of ongoing infrastructure works currently amounts to approximately ₹52,000 crore.

The Deputy Chief Minister acknowledged the contributions of previous Congress governments, noting that Hyderabad received water from the Krishna, Godavari, and Manjeera rivers during their rule. He criticized the prior administration for failing to introduce any additional water sources despite being in power for ten years since Telangana's formation.

He recalled that during the Nizam era, Gandipet supplied water to Hyderabad, which was later expanded through major river projects under Congress administrations.

Looking ahead, Vikramarka announced plans to expand the Hyderabad Metro Rail network by 122 kilometers under Phase II, estimated at ₹38,000 crore, providing connectivity to the old city, airport, Patancheru, and Hayathnagar. Additionally, the 362-kilometer Regional Ring Road project, valued at ₹30,627 crore, aims to extend Hyderabad's development across Telangana.

The government is also working on 21 radial roads to connect the Outer Ring Road and Regional Ring Road, with ten alignments approved and work started on two. Phase I of the Musi River rejuvenation project has begun, and to mitigate pollution, 550 electric buses have been introduced, with an additional 2,200 scheduled for inclusion. The government has allocated ₹200 crore to convert diesel autos into electric vehicles.

Vikramarka highlighted the proposed Bharat Future City spanning 30,000 acres and praised the TSRTC-Metro Common Pass as an initiative enhancing urban mobility. Commuters can now utilize a single pass for Metro Rail and RTC services, with options ranging from one-day to one-month validity. The Minister expressed that Ministers would personally review the facility by traveling on both systems.

The initiative aims to promote greater public transport usage and reduce reliance on private vehicles in the city. Notable participants in the program included Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Vivek Venkataswamy, Md. Azharuddin, Government Whip and Legislative Council member Addanki Dayakar, Mahender Reddy, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Transport Department Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, and others.
