The Florida Panthers will host the San Jose Sharks in their season opener on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 10:00 PM ET at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Panthers, led by their brother duo Matthew Tkachuk (19) and Brady Tkachuk (8), are aiming to start their season strong after a redemption season. Last year, they finished seventh in the Atlantic Division and 14th in the Eastern Conference with 84 points, missing the playoffs.
The Panthers' biggest offseason signing was the acquisition of Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators. This trade, made on Tuesday, is expected to help the team bounce back. In contrast, the Sharks, who finished fifth in the Pacific Division last season, improved to 11th in the Western Conference in the 2025-26 season, earning 86 points compared to a league-low 52 points the previous year. They went 2-2 in the preseason.
Fans can catch all the action live on NBC Sports California or through a Fubo stream. A Fubo free trial is available to start watching live television without cable on various devices. However, regional restrictions may apply.
