Google adds a Map tool to Gemini, but only on phones
Google is also replacing the forward slash with an @ symbol for surfacing your skills and connectors.
Google has introduced a new "Map" tool to its Gemini app, which can assist with location-based prompts. Android Authority first spotted this feature back in February, and 9to5Google reported that the tool has now been rolled out widely to both Android and iOS devices.
The "Map" tool is accessible at the end of the Gemini app's carousel, alongside other tools such as Photos, Camera, Avatar, Files, Drive, and Notebooks. Google is giving Gemini significant attention this week, as it recently rolled out Guided Vision for Gemini Live to assist blind and low-vision users. Additionally, Gemini can now connect with Wallet to access boarding passes, event tickets, and more.
