Florian Wirtz sends telling message to Liverpool teammates after Germany display

Florian Wirtz delivered a standout performance as Germany defeated Serbia 2-0 in the UEFA Nations League, leading the way for Jurgen Klopp's first win as Germany's head coach. The German midfielder played a pivotal role in the opening goal, nearly missing with a shot that struck the woodwork, only to be assisted by a rebound that Tom Bischof converted into the roof of the net.

In the second half, Wirtz sealed the victory with a goal after a well-executed team move. Fans of Liverpool, where Wirtz has been struggling to find consistency since joining from Bayer Leverkusen, will find this display particularly encouraging. After the match, Wirtz attributed his success to his teammates' efforts, stating that "The players around me made it easy.

We stuck to the game plan and did almost everything right." This insight could be valuable for Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola, who aims to maximize the potential of the German midfielder. However, Wirtz's struggles at Liverpool cannot solely be attributed to the team's movement around him. He frequently drops deep into midfield, which hinders his ability to be decisive in the attacking third and makes him easier to dispossess by opponents.

Additionally, Wirtz has been challenged by the physical nature of the Premier League, making it more difficult for him to hold onto the ball. Despite head coach Andoni Iraola's continued support for Wirtz, the German international must find a way to maintain consistency to retain his position in the side.
