DFS Furniture appoints Elizabeth McMeikan as chair designate

DFS Furniture plc has appointed Elizabeth McMeikan as their independent non-executive director and Chair Designate, according to a press release. McMeikan is set to join the Board immediately and will take over as Chair from Steve Johnson in 2027. This appointment resulted from an externally led search process.

McMeikan currently serves as Chair of Nichols plc, a FTSE AIM-listed soft drinks company, and also holds the position of Senior Independent Director at Custodian, a FTSE Small Cap UK real estate investment trust. She has previously occupied senior non-executive roles at Unite Group plc, Dalata Hotel Group plc, and McBride plc.

Before her tenure in the private sector, McMeikan worked in marketing and sales at Colgate Palmolive and Tesco, handling commercial roles nationally and internationally. The company indicated that there is no additional information required under Listing Rule 6.4.8R regarding this appointment.
