The accident took place at KM72.5 of Jalan Batu Pahat-Mersing, around 5pm. The Hyundai Matrix was driven by 54-year-old Mislan Osmin and his 49-year-old wife, Nor Azilah A Rahman, who were killed at the scene. Their daughters, Radiah, 24, and Syahida, 21, were in the back seat and sustained serious injuries, receiving treatment at Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital.
The lorry driver, a 34-year-old man from Kluang, was not injured in the crash. Police are continuing their investigations under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act and urge anyone with information to contact their nearest police station.
