Connor Clifton’s Bruins Return Already Includes A Surprising New Responsibility

Connor Clifton returned to the Boston Bruins for the opening game, immediately filling a substantial role with a team-high 23:23 in the 3-0 victory against the Rangers. Having previously played 232 games for the Bruins, Clifton's return signaled that his new responsibility could be significant. The Bruins welcomed Clifton's familiarity, finding trust in his pairing with former teammate Nikita Zadorov.

Their performance demonstrated their ability to handle top opposition effectively. Coach Marco Sturm praised the duo for their quick play and puck control, suggesting they could take on more demanding work when necessary. As Charlie McAvoy's return approached, Clifton's role may evolve once McAvoy rejoins the team. In the meantime, Clifton's performance in his first game back highlighted his potential to contribute to the Bruins' defensive lineup.
