Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes may be back at the top of his game, but there's one problem

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is back to performing at an exceptional level, as evidenced by the Chiefs' undefeated start into Week 4. After recovering from an ACL and LCL injury, Mahomes appears to be at the top of his game. However, there is one issue standing in his way. According to a CBS Sports feature after Week 3, where Garrett Podell ranks the NFL's quarterbacks, Mahomes is indeed back at his best, but Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers is having an outstanding start, potentially surpassing Mahomes.

Despite Mahomes leading the NFL in completions (26) and touchdown passes (4) thrown outside the pocket, and ranking inside the top 10 in nearly every other passing metric, he is not currently ranked No. 1 due to Purdy's impressive performance.
