Chaos in the Ring: Phyna floors Nkechi Blessing, Carter Efe defeats Speed Darlington

Reality TV star Phyna and skit maker Carter Efe secured victories in the celebrity boxing bouts at Balmoral Promotions' Chaos in the Ring event, which took place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos on October 1, 2026. Meanwhile, Ghanaian contender Seth "Freezy Macbones" Gyimah defeated Godday "Zodsolo" Appah as the main attraction.

Phyna, whose real name is Josephina Otabor, knocked out actress Nkechi Blessing during their four-round bout to become the first Nigerian female winner in the history of celebrity boxing. Post-fight, she announced that she would face Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia next, accusing the actress of bothering her through direct messages. Etinosa, present on the sidelines, readily accepted the challenge, stating that she would defend her pride against Phyna.

Phyna also walked away with a prize of ₦50 million for her historic win and hinted at a potential future in professional boxing. In the second contest, Carter Efe dominated Speed Darlington in a four-round matchup, stopping the musician by technical knockout. This victory extended Efe's unbeaten streak in the Chaos in the Ring celebrity boxing series. Efe had previously defeated singer Habeeb "Portable" Badmus in a three-round contest on May 1, 2026, winning unanimously by a score of 30-27.

The main event saw Appah losing his WBO African Light Heavyweight Continental Championship to Gyimah, who won decisively by unanimous decision, dethroning the Nigerian champion. The event, featuring celebrity entertainers and professional boxers, was broadcast live on SuperSport and DAZN and was powered by Bet9ja.
