Berlin-based ConTech startup Kuro Technology has secured €10 million in funding to develop an AI foundation for general contractors. The round, led by Munich- and Berlin-based venture capital firm UVC Partners, also saw participation from Foundamental, Realyze Ventures, and helloworld. Co-founders and CEOs Lea Scherer and Jonas Minkler hail from prior leadership positions at construction-tech companies alcemy and Capmo.

Kuro's platform aims to address inefficiencies in construction by processing project documentation and creating a single data model. The AI system flags contradictions between drawings and specifications, assesses risk, improves 3D model components, processes public tenders, and evaluates subcontractor bids. By automating these processes, Kuro claims to save its customers around 90 hours per bid, with 70% of users noting the tool reveals information they would otherwise miss.

Kuro plans to use the funding to further develop its AI platform, which learns and improves with every project.
