Vietnam secured a 4-2 victory over Pakistan in the final match of the FIFA ASEAN Cup at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on Friday. Pakistan, ranked significantly lower than Vietnam, began strongly with a goal by Mohibullah in the first half. However, Vietnam capitalized on their opponents' weaknesses, scoring three times in the second half to take a 3-1 lead.

Veteran Kaleemullah Khan managed to score a consolation goal for Pakistan in the 88th minute, but it was too late as Hoang Minh Williams restored Vietnam's two-goal advantage in stoppage time. This result left Vietnam second in Division I Group 'B' behind Thailand, with the Philippines third and Pakistan finishing with a single point from their three matches in their debut FIFA competition.

Pakistan had previously drawn 2-2 with the Philippines, needing a win against Vietnam to reach the bronze-medal match. Despite dominating the opening half, Pakistan's efforts were not enough to overcome Vietnam's strong second-half performance.
