This weekend’s TV streaming picks on Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV and other platforms include "Marshals" season 2, "East of Eden," "Coyote vs Acme" and "Scrubs" season 2.
1. 'East of Eden' (Netflix)
A period drama adaptation of John Steinbeck's novel, starring Zoe Kazan as Cathy Ames and Christopher Abbott as Adam Trask. The story follows the intertwined lives of the Trask and Ames families, with new generations impacted by the choices of Cathy and her brothers. Kazan's grandfather, Elia Kazan, directed the 1955 movie based on the original novel, giving her a personal connection to the material. This 7-episode series, available now on Netflix, offers a deep dive into the story beyond the 1955 adaptation.
2. 'Coyote vs. Acme' (digital)
In this live-action/animation comedy, Wile E. Coyote finally gets justice after decades of being the victim of Acme's dangerous products. The movie follows his efforts to sue the corporation, pitting him against Acme's slick attorney (John Cena). Featuring a long-standing feud between Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner, this 1h 43-minute film promises a wild ride full of laughter and absurdity. Available to stream on Prime Video with a purchase.
