Zulkifli: Tabung Haji RCI follow-up must be firm and comprehensive

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — Minister of Religion (Religious Affairs) Zulkifli Hasan is emphasizing the need for a firm and comprehensive follow-up on the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report concerning Tabung Haji (TH) following his testimony before the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The minister highlighted that safeguarding the trust of millions of depositors and preserving the integrity of Islamic assets is of utmost importance.

"Ensuring follow-up actions on the TH RCI Report are carried out firmly and comprehensively is the main focus at this time," Zulkifli stated on Facebook. Having reviewed all pertinent documents, including the Tabung Haji Act and the RCI Report, he described his appearance before the PAC, which lasted over two hours, as akin to a PhD viva voce, where he was questioned by committee members.

Despite the rigorous examination, Zulkifli managed to respond calmly and confidently, attributing his composure to Allah's will and permission.
