The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) has opened a new regional office in Sunyani, Bono Region, to bring tree crops services closer to stakeholders. This move is part of TCDA's efforts to decentralise its regulatory, development, and stakeholder engagement activities at the regional level. The facility, commissioned by TCDA's CEO Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, Bono Regional Minister Joseph A. Akwaboa, and TCDA Board Chairman Prof. William Oduro, will enhance access to regulatory services and support for farmers, processors, aggregators, traders, and other actors in the tree crops value chain.
Dr. Okrah highlighted the office's role in facilitating stakeholder registration, compliance, enforcement, traceability, data collection, public education, and stakeholder sensitisation. Bono Regional Minister Akwaboa emphasized the importance of the office in improving agricultural productivity, quality assurance, value addition, and market access.
He also urged stakeholders to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices. Dr. Okrah thanked President John Dramani Mahama, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Bono Regional Coordinating Council, development partners, and other stakeholders for their contributions to the office's establishment.
