The Toronto Raptors have officially re-acquired superstar wing Kawhi Leonard from the LA Clippers, marking one of the biggest offseason moves in franchise history. Leonard, a key player in the Raptors' 2019 championship team, is set to pass the torch to young star Scottie Barnes, who has emerged as a franchise cornerstone since the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Barnes, who recently finished fifth in the Defensive Player of the Year voting and was selected to his first All-Defensive team, has averaged 18.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game over the past season, while also showcasing his playmaking abilities with 1.4 steals and 1.5 blocked shots. The addition of Leonard will undoubtedly bolster Barnes' offensive arsenal, as the veteran guard is returning from a season in which he averaged a career-high 27.9 points, shooting 50.5 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from the three-point line.
