October 1: Gov Idris urges Nigerians to uphold unity, democracy

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has called upon Nigerians to maintain national unity, democratic principles, and peaceful coexistence as the nation celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary. In a message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, Idris emphasized that Nigeria's diversity should serve as a strength, urging citizens to shun political, religious, and ethnic divisions that could jeopardize national unity.

The governor urged Nigerians to safeguard the country's democratic achievements, uphold the rule of law, and support effective governance while addressing the nation's challenges. Idris highlighted that unity and togetherness are key to the nation's prosperity and encouraged citizens to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of the founding fathers, placing the national interest above individual concerns.

The governor also called for continued prayers for Nigeria's peace, stability, and prosperity, stressing that collective responsibility, resilience, and mutual understanding are crucial in overcoming the country's challenges. Idris affirmed his administration's commitment to enhancing security in Kebbi State and executing initiatives to enhance the welfare of residents, urging citizens to collaborate with the government and security agencies to protect lives and property, particularly in the face of security threats across the nation.
