WASHINGTON: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday Israel will get to the “root” of the co-pilot who engaged in a foiled attempt to crash an Israel-bound flydubai flight and that Israel will “possibly” be participating in the probe into the incident. “We’ll get to the root of this attacker, whether he had accomplices, whether Iran was behind it. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Wednesday that Israel will uncover the "root" of the co-pilot responsible for a failed attempt to crash a flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv. He suggested that the investigation may reveal whether the attacker had accomplices or if Iran was involved. The incident occurred on flydubai Flight FZ1073, which originated in Dubai and was headed to Tel Aviv.
After the co-pilot stabbed the pilot, a struggle ensued, resulting in a rapid descent of nearly 14,000 feet (4,267 meters). Passengers and crew members managed to overpower the co-pilot and the second flydubai pilot on board managed to safely land the aircraft in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Netanyahu indicated that the attacker is currently being investigated in Saudi Arabia and may be transported to the Emirates, where he originated.
