Netanyahu says Flydubai co-pilot underwent Islamist radical indoctrination

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday that the co-pilot who attempted to crash a passenger plane on a route to Israel had been subjected to Islamist radicalization. During an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu confirmed that the individual had undergone radical indoctrination. However, the motive behind the harrowing incident on Wednesday's Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv remains unknown.

Passengers were able to overpower the attacker, allowing a reserve crew to safely land the plane in Saudi Arabia. Netanyahu revealed to Fox & Friends that a final determination on the co-pilot's potential connections to Iran would be possible in a few days. He acknowledged the co-pilot's suicidal tendencies, stating that when combined with the radicalization aspects evident in his background, it provided a strong indication of the circumstances surrounding the incident. Yet, Netanyahu emphasized that definitive conclusions were not yet drawn.
