NC police probe murder as woman discovered in shallow grave

Northern Cape police are probing a murder after a 31-year-old woman's body was found in a shallow grave inside a shack in Lerato Park, Roodepan, Kimberley. The woman had been reported missing by a family member on September 26 after she was last seen in July. Police spokesperson Cherelle Ehlers stated that the family member became concerned and reported her missing to the Roodepan SAPS, initiating a missing person inquiry.

The family member returned to the shack on September 29, but it was locked. On September 30, they returned again with a community member, opened the door, and discovered the woman's body in a shallow grave.
