Lionel Messi has officially confirmed his ownership of Spanish football club CD Eldense, expanding his growing football investment portfolio. The Argentine superstar, a former captain of Barcelona and Argentina, has completed the acquisition of the club and will oversee its future trajectory. CD Eldense, founded in 1921, is set to embark on a new chapter with Messi's backing, aiming to strengthen its sporting and commercial ambitions.
The move comes as Messi continues his transition from football superstar to influential figure in club ownership and football business. Real Madrid has urged UEFA to conclude the investigation into former president Ricardo Negreira. CD Eldense's entry into Messi's ownership portfolio follows his previous ownership of UE Cornellà. The club's acquisition is pending approval from the CSD, in line with Sports Law regulations.
