Kalen DeBoer Has a Clear Warning for Alabama Before Mississippi State

Alabama faces a stern warning from coach Kalen DeBoer ahead of Saturday's first ranked matchup of the 2026 season against Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide will travel to Starkville to take on the No. 16 Bulldogs, who have entered the game unbeaten after a 31-24 victory over Missouri last Saturday.

DeBoer praised Mississippi State head coach Jeff Lebby for his progress, noting the team's rapid development and increased speed. He highlighted the Bulldogs' ability to play fast while creating defensive problems. Mississippi State's 4-0 record this season, including wins over South Carolina and Missouri, demonstrates their impressive form.

DeBoer specifically singled out Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor as a major challenge for Alabama. Taylor has become a dynamic all-around player, with 1,192 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and only two interceptions. His deep ball and ability to create plays with his legs make him a dangerous threat. DeBoer emphasized that Taylor's multiple skill sets require Alabama's defense to be vigilant and uncomfortable throughout the game.

While Taylor is the focal point, DeBoer stressed that Mississippi State's offense is balanced and cannot be ignored. The Bulldogs have averaged 533.3 yards per game this season, ranking fourth nationally. Alabama's defense will need to disrupt Taylor and prevent the rest of Mississippi State's playmakers from stepping up.

Alabama's unbeaten record this season includes a 49-18 victory over South Carolina. The game will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT, with ABC providing the broadcast.
