JNTU-GV tells 37 affiliated engineering colleges to prioritise AI education

V.V. Subba Rao, the Vice Chancellor of JNTU-GV, has urged all 37 affiliated engineering colleges in the North Andhra region to prioritize artificial intelligence (AI) education. AI is playing a crucial role across all engineering branches, and the university is updating its syllabus to equip students with the necessary skills to understand emerging technologies.

Along with Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, chairman of the Avanthi group, Rao was the chief guest at the Fresher’s Day celebrations at Avanthi Engineering College in Cherukupalli, Vizianagaram district. He emphasized that AI would have a significant impact on human lives in the coming years and that updating AI academic and practical knowledge is essential for students.

Rao stated, "AI is going to be necessary for all courses including engineering subjects. The syllabus in higher education courses has to be updated under the guidance of experts." The Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner, Shanka Brata Bagchi, mentioned that the department is focusing on technology to effectively address cyber security cases.

Additionally, industry representatives such as Suresh Kumar Kadiyam from Cognizant, Rama Raju Pusapati from TCS, and M.V.S.S. Nandish, Vice President of the Avanthi Group, were present at the event.
