A new five-week weekend program called the 2026 K-Heritage Leadership Program is opening enrollment, offering foreign professionals a unique opportunity to delve into Korea's rich heritage. The Korea National University of Heritage is behind this initiative, aiming to connect expatriate professionals with master craftspeople, UNESCO-listed treasures, and centuries-old customs.
Scheduled to run every Saturday from October 24 through November 21, the program pairs academic lectures with hands-on cultural immersion experiences across historic venues in Seoul and the university's main campus in Buyeo. The city of Buyeo is renowned for its ancient Baekje history.
The program's theme, "Korean Traditional Culture Met Through the Four Seasons: Wisdom and Elegance of the Ancestors Found in Nature," will explore how traditional lifestyle practices, architecture, and aesthetics were harmoniously intertwined with nature's changing climates throughout history. The curriculum seeks to provide participants with a deeper understanding of how traditional Korean culture evolved in response to the environment and climate throughout the four seasons.
