Comcast's NBCUniversal cuts streaming technology jobs

Comcast's NBCUniversal is reducing its workforce within the global streaming technology department, which oversees popular franchises such as Fast & Furious and Jurassic Park. The exact number of positions affected remains uncertain until consultations with employees conclude, according to a source familiar with the situation. The majority of the dismissals are anticipated to occur at Sky, NBCUniversal's European media subsidiary, although some US-based NBCUniversal staff may also be impacted.

NBCUniversal explained that these measures are part of a strategic overhaul aimed at streamlining its Global Streaming Technology organization to support future expansion. The recent reduction in staff aligns with a broader industry trend, as media conglomerates strive to enhance profitability in their streaming services following substantial investments in technology and content creation over recent years.
