As the 2026 NBBF/Zenith Bank Basketball League season enters its Final 8 stage, two conference winners will face off in the semifinal round. Nigeria Customs, champions of the Savannah Conference, suffered their first loss of the season, preventing them from topping their group. They enter the Final 8 with victories against Air Warriors Warriors before falling to First Bank's Elephant Girls 69-47.
Elephant Girls emerged as the top team in Group B. Meanwhile, in Group A, MFM maintained their winning streak, defeating Aso Sky Queens 60-48 and securing their place in the second semifinal against Nigeria Customs. The second semifinal will see First Bank, who finished atop Group B, challenge Aso Sky Queens in a crucial match for a spot in the final and a chance to add to their record 10th title.
Other teams have also struggled this season, with Air Warriors and Titans joining Victoria Queens as two squads without a win. The first semifinal matchup will take place at the Indoor Sports Hall of National Stadium, Surulere, starting at 2pm on Thursday, followed by the second game between First Bank and Aso Sky Queens at the same venue at 4pm.
