A young 22-year-old motor mechanic and Bolt driver named Emmanuel Kofi Mensah was sentenced to 25 years in prison for robbing a beautician at Mantey Farms, Adenta. Mensah pleaded guilty to robbery and was convicted by Mrs Angela Attachie on her own plea. The court heard that on September 23, 2026, Mensah picked up Yvonne Dzane Dzifa for a Bolt ride from Madina Zongo Junction to Adenta.
After reaching their destination, Mensah allegedly locked the vehicle's doors and drove towards the Adenta-Dodowa road, refusing to stop where he should have. When he stopped at Mantey Farms, he demanded Dzifa's belongings, including her handbag. When she resisted, Mensah pulled out a cutlass, dragged her from the vehicle, and repeatedly struck her.
He slashed her left wrist and little finger before taking her bag, which contained valuable items such as iPhones and cash. Dzifa managed to flee to safety, pursued by Mensah and an accomplice with a cutlass. She was rescued the next morning by the police. Mensah was arrested the day after the incident after selling the stolen iPhone 17 Pro Max at an Apple shop.
The police found a cutlass and a tablet in his possession. Efforts continue to identify and arrest the accomplice involved in the robbery.
