Bamburi Cement Plc, a prominent cement and concrete solutions provider, has expressed its intent to supply more than 1 million tons of cement for the upcoming Lamu Crude Oil Refinery. As part of its business development strategy, the company's CEO, Geoffrey Ndugwa, highlighted that Bamburi is actively pursuing a commercial opportunity to supply quality cement and concrete products to the Dangote East Africa Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemical SEZ throughout the project's development phase.
With the assurance that the project will utilize locally manufactured products, Bamburi is exploring the provision of its eco-friendly cement, Bamburi DuraCem, which is suitable for large or marine construction projects. Bamburi has also offered its Ultra-series speciality Concrete products, such as Ultra-Waterproof Concrete, Ultra-Self Compacting Concrete, Pervious Concrete, and Ultra-Fibre Reinforced Concrete, designed for various specific requirements, including moisture-prone areas, seamless pours, sustainable drainage, and crack-resistant durability.
The construction of the world's largest single-train crude oil refinery is expected to consume approximately 1 million tons of cement and concrete solutions, and Bamburi is well-positioned to manufacture and deliver these products from its Mombasa plant.
