Arsenal has held preliminary discussions regarding the potential signing of Barcelona's Jules Kounde, according to recent reports. The French right-back has been a subject of interest for the Gunners due to his exceptional skill set and ability to strengthen their defensive line. The article states that Arsenal has always kept an eye on Kounde, despite already possessing two top-tier right-backs in Ben White and Jurrien Timber, who have experienced intermittent fitness issues.
Barcelona and Arsenal had ongoing negotiations over Kounde's transfer during the summer months, but the deal ultimately fell through. Despite this setback, Arsenal remains eager to secure Kounde's services, and they are keeping him in mind for future transfer windows, such as the January transfer window. The article emphasizes that Kounde's quality could offer Arsenal reliable coverage at right back and provide a competitive edge when White and Timber return to full fitness.
