Lahore Police has opted to integrate its Animal Rescue Centre with advanced technology and artificial intelligence. Consequently, Lahore Police and scholars from LUMS University have inked a memorandum of understanding for a digital system. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran signed off on the agreement for the digital initiative. The objective of the agreement is to completely digitize records pertaining to animal rescue, treatment, and protection, enabling instantaneous access and enhanced surveillance through artificial intelligence.
According to the spokesperson, AI will aid in monitoring cases concerning animal rescue, treatment, relocation, and animal cruelty. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran emphasized that while animals may be voiceless, safeguarding them is an ethical and societal duty. He stated that hundreds of voiceless animals have already been rescued by the Police Animal Rescue Centre and provided them with a secure environment, treatment, and requisite care.
He further added that the protection of animals and the prevention of cruelty against them are among Lahore Police's top priorities.
