Within five years of a type 2 diabetes diagnosis, there is a greater risk of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD) first than of developing heart failure first, according to a study presented at the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, held from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 in Milan.
