In a recent press conference preceding the 49ers' upcoming game against the Denver Broncos, defensive lineman Zach Allen expressed his utmost respect for San Francisco's All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams. Allen stated, "I have all the respect in the world for Trent. I honestly think he's the best tackle of all time." The 49ers secured Williams through a trade in 2020, aiming to replace the departed Joe Staley.
Since joining the team, Williams has been a consistently reliable member of the offensive line and a crucial component of the 49ers' ongoing success, which includes several NFC Championship appearances and a Super Bowl berth. In recognition of his significant contributions, the 49ers granted Williams a two-year, $50 million contract extension this offseason, securing his presence with the team through the 2027 season.
Nonetheless, Allen's high praise for Williams arrives at a critical juncture in the 49ers' season. Williams suffered a neck injury during their last game, which raised concerns about his availability for the Broncos showdown. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan reassured reporters that Williams should be fully fit by Thursday, allowing him to potentially face off against Allen and the Broncos in the upcoming matchup.
