Xi projects confidence in National Day speech, with rallying call for economic growth

In regards to cross-strait relations, Beijing maintained a firm stance, pledging to combat "Taiwan independence" separatist forces while promoting peaceful development and national reunification.

The fifth plenary session of the party's 20th Central Committee is scheduled for October 26-29, focusing on strengthening party governance and discipline. During the reception, Xi reaffirmed China's adherence to an independent foreign policy of peace and expressed hope that recent warming US-China ties would inject certainty into an uncertain world.
