WWE legend Goldberg's son considers wresting career after playing for Deion Sanders

The son of WWE wrestling legend Goldberg is contemplating a future in professional wrestling once his football career concludes, according to an interview on the Colorado Football Coaches Show on September 30. Gage Goldberg, a linebacker for Colorado under coach Deion Sanders, shared his thoughts on the matter during the show. Recently, he showcased one of his best performances as a college player, recording two tackles in a 23-13 loss against Baylor.

Currently in his third year at Colorado as a non-scholarship player, Gage is striving to surpass his father, a wrestling Hall of Famer. When asked by the show's host, Mark Johnson, if he is seriously considering a wrestling career, Gage responded confidently, "Yes, sir, it's definitely there." While his father, Bill Goldberg, once declined to pursue wrestling when Gage was younger, the younger Goldberg is now eager to follow in his footsteps, emphasizing his desire to outdo his father once he transitions to wrestling.

Deion Sanders, Gage's coach, acknowledged that the young athlete has been under the spotlight his whole life due to his famous father. However, he clarified that Gage is different from his father and shared a story about how they used to spend time together before the wrestling world took center stage. Sanders also recounted an incident where Goldberg "slammed" an opponent who made a tackle against him in a game, leading to a fine.

Assistant linebackers coach Andre’ Hart described Gage as a "warrior" who is improving rapidly since his high school days in Boerne, Texas.
