Woman accused of firing at home of Rihanna indicted on attempted murder and other felony counts

A Florida woman, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, has been indicted by a grand jury on attempted murder and more than a dozen other felony charges, according to prosecutors. Ortiz, 36, from Orlando, is accused of driving across the country to fire a rifle at the homes of celebrities Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. Her indictment came after secret grand jury proceedings that lasted months while she underwent psychiatric evaluations.

Ortiz, who is a licensed speech pathologist with no prior criminal record, appeared in court wearing jail clothes and spoke only to her attorney, who entered a not guilty plea on her behalf. The judge ordered her held on $2.6 million bail. No one was injured, but bullets struck a trailer where Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were, along with a nursery where their children and a nanny were present.

Ortiz allegedly fired at least 20 rounds from an AR-15 style rifle. She told investigators she was not attempting murder. If convicted, she could face life in prison.
