Walla Walla Hatch Grade Fire near Touchet: Evacuation orders for Byrnes Road area near Watson Loop; latest update, video

A fire erupted on the sixth floor of Block 126 Pending Road in Singapore on September 28, 2026, around 3 pm, leaving one individual unconscious in the living room. Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) paramedics and emergency medical technicians swiftly administered CPR before transporting the person to Woodlands Hospital. Upon their arrival, SCDF officers noticed black smoke emanating from the sixth-floor unit.

The fire, which involved objects in the living room, was quickly brought under control using one water jet. During firefighting efforts, firefighters discovered the unconscious individual and evacuated them from the unit. A resident from an adjoining apartment was also checked for smoke inhalation and subsequently moved to Singapore General Hospital. In response to the incident, both the Police and SCDF evacuated approximately 70 people from the affected block as a precautionary step.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. SCDF has issued a reminder to the public, highlighting that residential fires are most commonly caused by unattended cooking, electrical fires, and unattended burning materials. The fire authority advises residents not to leave cooking unattended and to maintain stove tops, cooker hoods, and ovens clean and free of grease.

In addition, power sockets should not be overloaded, devices should not be left charging unsupervised overnight, and any lighted materials such as incense sticks and cigarettes must be fully extinguished before disposal and never left unattended.
