'Wake Up, Devabhau': Pune Congress Stages 'Kumbhakarna' Protest Over Threat To Pune Municipal Commissioner

On Wednesday, the Pune City Congress organized a symbolic 'Kumbhakarna' protest outside the Pune Municipal Corporation headquarters to demand action against the BJP MLA who allegedly threatened PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram over a controversial road tender project. The protestors accused the incident of political interference in civic administration and demanded the government identify and take legal action against the MLA responsible.

The 'Kumbhakarna' protest came as Congress workers, dressed as the character and using traditional music and slogans, called for transparency and action from the government. Congress leader Prashant Jagtap stated that if ruling-party MLAs threaten high-ranking officials like the IAS commissioner, ordinary citizens will be at risk, and the government's silence must end.
