UP Expands NCC Training In Sarvodaya Schools, 344 Students Enrolled As Etawah School Gets 80-Seat Unit

Under the Yogi government, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya schools across the state are providing students with opportunities for holistic development alongside high-quality education. As part of this initiative, 344 students from five Sarvodaya schools are now enrolled in National Cadet Corps (NCC) training.

The Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Kandhani in Etawah has been awarded a new NCC Junior Division unit with 80 seats, designed to enhance discipline, leadership, self-confidence and a sense of national service among students. Training at the school will follow NCC guidelines, offering students an additional platform for personal growth alongside their studies.

In Etawah, 50 cadets at Nagla Hiralal School are already part of the NCC. During the current session, 50 students from Bastoura and Rasra in Ballia have been selected, of whom 44 have completed a 10-day training program. At Nagla Hiralal, Etawah, 50; Bhojipura, Bareilly, 100; Parsia, Mirzapur, 66; and Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya Madihan in Mirzapur, 34 girl students are also associated with NCC, totaling 344 students benefiting from the program.

NCC training includes participation in parade, physical training, camps, social service, and adventure activities, all of which help cultivate team spirit, responsibility, self-confidence, and leadership skills in students. Furthermore, NCC certificates can be advantageous in future educational and employment opportunities, as required by prescribed rules.

Asim Arun, Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge), highlighted that special attention is being given to the overall development of students along with their education in Sarvodaya schools. By expanding NCC units in schools like Kandhani, the government is making a significant step towards providing new opportunities for holistic growth and character building among young learners.
