Two open-source starter templates: a premium Next.js portfolio and varsha, an Astro site starter

Yethikrishna R has released two open-source starter templates for developers. The first, Dev Portfolio Template, is built on Next.js 14, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion. It features a one-file customization, MDX blog with syntax highlighting and reading time, animated cards, tech badges, an interactive CLI mode, and a theme switcher.

The template also includes dark/light/system themes, optional UI sounds, custom cursor, and full SEO with sitemap, robots.txt, OpenGraph, JSON-LD, and dynamic OG images. To get started, clone the GitHub repository and run `npm run dev`.

The second template, varsha, is an Astro + Starlight starter for marketing sites, docs portals, and blogs. It comes with 18+ built-in color palettes, instant light/dark switching, a full design system with CSS tokens, built-in documentation in English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese, and MDX blog with author cards, tags, RSS, and reading time.

The architecture is zero-JS-by-default, boasting Lighthouse scores of 100/100/100/100. To run the template, use `npx create-varsha my-site` and then `cd my-site npm run dev`. Both templates are MIT-licensed and are available for forking and contributions.
