Trump-linked Powerus eyes Ukrainian drone tech for U.S.

On September 30, Russia employed a drone equipped with a warhead capable ofdestroying high-voltage power pylons and steel bridge structures for the first time, according to presidential adviser Serhii Flash Beskrestnov. The attack came as Moscow intensified its assault on Ukraine's energy infrastructure ahead of winter, marking the heaviest combined attack on energy systems in months.

The warhead, developed specifically for this purpose, weighed 40 kilograms and included four supplementary destructive modules. Beskrestnov informed that Russia aimed to target crucial high-voltage power transmission lines with the drone. Russia deployed nearly 190 attack drones alongside ballistic missiles during the overnight assault, primarily targeting energy infrastructure in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, as well as critical infrastructure in several other regions.

By the evening, emergency power outages were reported in the capital and surrounding areas, along with Chernihiv and Zhytomyr oblasts, following repeated Russian strikes on energy infrastructure. Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi noted that this marked the first time since the end of the last heating season that such a massive and combined attack had occurred against Ukraine's power system.
