Troops neutralise suspected terrorist, arrest another in Benue

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) Sector 1 have successfully neutralized a suspected terrorist and arrested another during a recent offensive operation in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State. According to a post on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on September 28, the operation took place at approximately 8:32 am near Kyado, where troops engaged terrorists at the Pevikya terrorist enclave in Adomanyi.

Makama reported that while some members of the terrorist group fled the scene during the confrontation, the troops managed to seize one AK-47 rifle magazine from the escaping suspects. This magazine is currently under their control for further investigation and appropriate action. Makama emphasized that the operation is part of OPWS's ongoing efforts to thwart terrorist activities and bolster security in vulnerable communities across Benue State to ensure lasting peace.
