Touch ’n Go To Add 10 Enhanced RFID Lanes Across Five Highways By Year-End

Touch ’n Go is set to add 10 Enhanced RFID lanes across five highways by the end of the year, as part of its commitment to Malaysia's Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system. This move aims to facilitate a barrier-free tolling experience and demonstrate the technology ahead of wider MLFF adoption. COO Liza Woon Yin Yin affirmed the company's readiness to aid the government's initiative using its existing RFID technology.

These 10 new Enhanced RFID lanes will be rolled out across five highways, including the Putrajaya Toll Plaza on the Maju Expressway, Sungai Ramal Toll Plaza on the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway, Bukit Raja Toll Plaza on the Grand Sepadu Highway, Bukit Jelutong Toll Plaza on the Guthrie Corridor Expressway, and Sungai Long and Ampang Toll Plazas on the East Klang Valley Expressway.

The company's Enhanced RFID lanes employ two antennas and ANPR, enabling accurate detection of both the front and rear of vehicles, which is a departure from conventional RFID lanes. Touch ’n Go's Enhanced RFID lanes also integrate components of its locally developed Titan Flow technology, blending RFID with AI and machine learning to enhance vehicle detection, lane throughput, and reliable transactions even at high vehicle speeds.
