Teacher killed after car crashes into Phayao ditch

Phayao — A 39-year-old university lecturer perished on Tuesday morning when his vehicle veered off course, flipped over, and came to rest sideways in a roadside drainage ditch. Mae Ka Police Station was notified at 02:48 on September 30 that a car had overturned and come to rest beside Phayao–Nakhon Sawan Road, approximately 200 meters past Mae Ka Municipality in Muang district.

Upon arrival, officers, along with rescue personnel from the Phayao Ruam Kusol Association and Fah Mui volunteers, discovered a white Toyota sedan resting upside-down in the ditch. The heavily-damaged car was found to be fully occupied by the driver, who was trapped inside. Using hydraulic cutting tools, rescuers managed to extricate the man's body from the wreckage.

The unnamed driver, a 39-year-old university demonstration-school lecturer, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Phayao Hospital for a forensic examination. Police suspect the vehicle was en route from Phayao town to the University of Phayao when it lost control on a curve, crossed the centerline and tumbled into the ditch.

The exact circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation, with authorities examining the vehicle, the road conditions, and the vehicle's trajectory.
